Fairchild designs, developments, manufactures, and sells power analog, power discrete, and certain non-power semiconductor solutions. The company's products are used in consumer, communications, computer, industrial, and automotive products for applications, such as power conversion, regulation, distribution, and management. It operates in three segments: Analog Products, Functional Power, and Standard Products. The Analog Products segment offers analog and mixed signal integrated circuits that monitor, interpret, and control continuously variable functions, such as light, color, sound, and energy. These products are used in computing, consumer, communications, industrial, and automotive applications. This segment also offers signal path products, including analog and digital switches, video encoders and decoders, video filters, and high performance amplifiers. The Functional Power segment provides power discrete semiconductors, such as Power MOSFETs, insulated gate bipolar transistors, and rectifiers that perform power switching, power conditioning, and signal amplification functions in electronic circuits for computing, communications, industrial, and automotive applications. The Standard Products segment offers logic devices; standard diode and transistor products; optoelectronic products, including optocouplers and infrared devices; and standard linear products, such as bipolar regulators, shunt regulators, low drop out regulators, standard op-amp/comparators, low voltage op-amp, and audio amplifiers. Fairchild Semiconductor International operates primarily in the United States, Europe, China, Taiwan, Korea, and Asia Pacific.
