EPCOS

EPCOS emerged from Siemens Matsushita Components, a joint venture founded in 1989 by Siemens and Matsushita. Since March 2003, EPCOS has been one of the largest companies in the TecDAX index of German technology stocks. EPCOS develops, manufactures and markets electronic components modules and systems, focusing on fast-growing leading-edge technology markets: in IT and telecommunications, but also in automotive, industrial and consumer electronics. EPCOS' product portfolio includes aluminum electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors and power capacitors, and solutions for power factor correction as well as ferrites, which are the heart of inductors and concentrate electromagnetic fields to transmit electrical signals and power. EPCOS also manufactures components that ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for the interference free operation of electrical equipment and devices of all kind. Their product portfolio covers surge arresters and switching spark gaps, sensors and sensor systems, thermistors, varistors, and a wide range of multilayer ceramic components, including piezo actuators and capacitors. EPCOS' California-based subsidiary Crystal Technology, Inc. is the global leading manufacturer of lithium niobate crystals and wafers, which are the raw materials for many SAW components. In SAW components, ceramic components, capacitors and inductors alike, EPCOS consistently stands for superlative electronic performance.
