AVAGO
Avago Technologies began as Hewlett Packard's components division back in the 1960's and thrived there for three decades. When Hewlett Packard spun off Agilent Technologies in 1999, Avago became Agilent's semiconductor products group expanding into new markets and applications with products that would help revolutionize global communications. Then in late 2005 KKR and Silver Lake Partners acquired the group. Overnight, Avago Technologies became the largest privately-held independent semiconductor company in the world and the only new company in Silicon Valley with a 40-year track record. Avago Technologies provides an extensive range of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic components and subsystems to tens of thousands of manufacturers around the world. The company's products serve four end markets: industrial and automotive, wired networking, wireless communications, and computer peripherals. Avago's products are used in everyday technology such as cellular phones, data networking & telecom equipment, printers, optical mice, enterprise storage and servers, solid-state lighting, LED lamps and displays, consumer appliances, industrial feedback sensors & motor controllers, auto signaling & dashboard illumination and LCD & plasma televisions.
